When entering a relationship, we are full of hope and happiness. However, life throws many surprises at us. While we cannot predict the outcome of any situation, we can take control of how we respond, as our response to crisis could destroy or rebuild relationship.
Most relational problems are manageable if issues are address and people are motivated to change.
Therapy can help to enhance intimacy or teach us to navigate new situations. It can help mediate arguments and develop better communication skills.
Couple therapy can benefit families where children are affected by tension between parents.
As a counsellor, I will not take sides, won’t judge nor recommend to end or to continue therapy. Instead, I will encourage each partner to communicate his or her needs, thoughts, and emotions more clearly and to listen to the other partner more carefully.
Before we start therapy we will have a consultation session to assess the problem, set up goals and discuss the best way forward.
